COVID-19 begins to die down; Only 19 fresh cases in J&K
Sgr reports 05 cases; Case tally at 453,422 death toll stands at 4,749, active cases reach to 252, recovery rate reaches to 98.88
Srinagar, Mar 12 : Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported only 19 fresh cases pushing the number of active cases to 252 while as no death was reported in last 24 hours in the UT.
With no more death, the death toll in J&K stands at 4,749 and 19 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 453,422.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 252 new cases, 145 belong to Kashmir division while as 107 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 287,251 including 284,683 recoveries and 2,423 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 166,171 including 163,738 recoveries and 2,326 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 252 including 145 from Kashmir division and 107 from Jammu division.
With 48 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 448,421 which is 98.89 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 05 from Srinagar, 00 from Baramulla, 01 from Budgam, 01 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 10 from Jammu division include 06 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 102,319 positive cases including 907 deaths and 101,327 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,619 including 304 deaths and 37,281 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,815 including 34,569 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,419 including 18,217 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,732 including 174 deaths and 21,552 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,419 including 22,200 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,681 cases including 13,557 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,626 including 13,542 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,317 including 16,194 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,304 including 6,244 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 76,128 including 74,837 recoveries and 1,222 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,764 including 14,617 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,803 including 12,551 recoveries and 249 deaths are from Rajouri, 11,512 including 11,354 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,409 including 11,239 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,084 including 8,957 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Samba, 5,892 including 5,842 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,740 including 7,628 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Poonch, 8,137 including 8,060 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,702 including 8,653 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,191,125 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,615 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 252 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,722,383 persons have completed the surveillance period and 458,126 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 23,776,650 samples are available. Out of 23,776,650 the number of samples tested negative stands at 23,323,228 while as 453,422 have tested positive, among them 252 cases are active, 448,421 have recovered and 4,749 persons have died—(KNO)
