She thanked Honourable Members of the Board for electing her as the Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board. In reply to media after a long indoor meeting with the Members & the Waqf Management, newly appointed Chairperson of J&K Waqf Dr Andrabi said that their task is very challenging as a new honest, accountable work-culture with the spirit of service needs to be inculcated in J&K Waqf which has been turned into a dejection over past more than seven decades by the ruling families. “Huge assets, properties and important shrines are haphazardly managed leaving no lesser scope for turning them into profitable places so that development and Infrastructural expansion is undertaken. It is a challenging task which is also the prime priority of new Waqf Body,”said Dr Ansrabi. She said that we assure the people of J&K that new body will try to revolutionize the management of Waqf in J&K. Newly appointed members of J&K Waqf Board Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Suhail Kazmi & Syed Mohammad Hussain also spoke to the press and outlined the mission of making Waqf not only self-sufficient but also profitable so that all needed infrastructural and managemental reforms are done.
