First case of En Caul birth in the valley

Both the mother and the baby are doing well with no post partum complications as otherwise reported in many such cases

Srinagar, Nov 26: According to reports, a history was charted at District hospital, Budgam Recently were the first case of En Caul birth in the valley also known as Mermaid/ Veiled birth was reported a full term with birth weight of 3.3Kg following a surgical intervention by Dr. Sanjeed Kawoosa and her team.

However as per reports, both the mother and the baby are doing well with no post partum complications as otherwise reported in many such cases.

The En Caul birth is a rare observation seen in less than one in 80,000 births where baby is still in sac gift wrapped in a soft jello like bubble.

Meanwhile, the Director Health services, Kashmir appreciated the good work done by the team of doctors and complimented them for performing this rare surgery feat with no complications.

He expressed that the immense amount of talent pool is available with the DHS Kashmir to excel and contribute in challenging conditions.
