Hurriyat (M) denounces disallowing of its delegates’ session

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) has strongly denounced authorities for disallowing the ‘one day workers and delegates session’ of the amalgam scheduled to be held on Saturday at Rajbagh headquarters.

A spokesperson of Hurriyat (M) in a statement issued to press said that chairman of the amalgam Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put under house arrest Friday night while the conglomerate’s head office in Rajbagh was sealed and barred for entry early Saturday morning.

When the hundreds of delegates and workers who had come from various parts of the valley were not allowed to assemble here they along with senior leaders Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and others moved towards the residence of Prof Bhat to conduct the session there, he said, adding that before they could reach there, all lanes and by lanes leading to Prof’s house were also sealed by a large contingent of police and forces and no one was allowed to move inside.
