Srinagar Jan, 15, : Describing horticulture industry as a lifeline for economy in Jammu and Kashmir, President Kashmir Trade Alliance Ajaz Shahdhar urged Lieutenant Governor administration to take practical steps to save the sector and growers.
Ajaz Shahdhar, while announcing his support for the hashed demands of Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Dealers Association President Bashir Ahmed Bashir, said that the business community is behind them.
President Kashmir Traders Alliance said that while the central government favors and advocates for Make in India and Atam Nirbam Bharat, the presence of Iranian Apples are question mark on their initatives.
Shahdhar said that 18 per cent GST has been levied on apple ,cardboard boxes, due to which they are facing difficulties in the markets.
