NCC executive calls on JD information

Deliberates disparity of advertisement distribution

Srinagar, February 04-CNS: The Executive Committee of Newspapers Coordination Committee led by Chairman Rasheed Rahi today held detailed deliberations with Joint Director Information, Kashmir regarding different issues being faced by the member publications in the Union Territory. Since some important issues regarding the disparity in distribution of advertisements to different publications in the region were to be discussed, so Mr. Haris Handoo(KAS) Joint Director included his two deputies Mr Sachin Bali (KAS)and Mr. Tawheed Ali Mir(KAS) in-charge of advertisement section to assist him. The NPCC executive first of all asked for the distribution record of 3 months and after scanning the records, it was observed that there has been consistency in disparity on flimsy grounds. Chairman, NPCC impressed upon the authorities that this kind of disparity and favoritism can’t be tolerated, however, the officials referred to some publications which lack quality in tone, content, quality of printing and have problems in distribution & outreach. The Executives of NPCC assured the officials to fill the gaps of short comings by the referred publications.
The officials led by JD Mr. Haris Handoo, after hour long discussion assured the team of NPCC that they will ensure to address this important grievance of Newspapers and instructions were issued instantly by him to his subordinate team to ensure impartiality in the distribution of advertisements. It was also agreed that the distribution will be uniform on particular days to all the publications as per the categorization. The NPCC Executive suggested that JD information should nominate a representative to NPCC during meetings for a healthy relationship and better coordination between media and the Information Department. The official team agreed to the suggestion to nominate its representative to NPCC meetings. The NPCC Executive besides Chairman Rasheed Rahi also included members Bilal Bazaz, Feroz Ali and Arshid Mir (CNS)
