Riyadh- Saudi Arabia has prohibited its males from marrying females from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Chad and Myanmar, Pak newspaper Dawn reported citing a report in Saudi media.
According to unofficial figures, there are about 5,00,000 females from these 4 nations presently residing in the kingdom.
Saudi males wishing to marry foreigners now face tougher regulations, says a report in Makkah each day quoting Makkah Police Director Major General Assaf Al-Qurashi.
The move is aimed at discouraging Saudi males from marrying foreigners and extra formalities have been placed prior to issuing permission for marriage with foreigners, the Dawn reported.
Those wanting to marry foreign females should really initial get the consent of the government and submit marriage applications via official channels, Mr Qurashi was quoted as saying.
Mr Qurashi mentioned divorced males will not be permitted to apply inside six months of their divorce.
The official mentioned applicants should really be more than 25 and attach identification documents signed by the nearby district mayor as properly as all other identity papers, like a copy of his family members card.
