Send me the holy waters
By Qasim Kashmiri
Send me the holy
Waters of pilgrimage
Exile apart my hideous skin
And give me a sacred bath
Through your embraces unlocked
And the palms blocked
I felt the balm venomous
And the saffron colourless
And that ugly widow
Who died for years?
To fall in love and betray
With all her bleeding tears
Exile not this bird anymore
Reckon the wishful hearts you tore
Those fractions won’t form this beggar
Pick some other wolves to bite my remains
