Shaheen conducts extensive tour of remote villages in Banihal
Launches party membership drive in Village Kuthji, Mangit

BANIHAL, 28th Aug : National Conference leader and District president Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen today conducted extensive tour to remote villages Sarachi, Kuthji, Hargam and in Khari tehsil of Banihal Constituency and took stock of the problems faced by the villagers on day today basis.
He met scores of people and also interacted party workers during the day long tour. The locals apprised him about the dilapidated condition of Banihal- Mangit road, erratic power supply in far-off areas besides lack of health care facilities in their villages. People in village Kuthji also demanded new transformer in their village. The people also complained about scarcity of drinking water in several villages in the area. People also demanded construction of all weather Bawa to Magit road that will be connecting majority population living in these villages through out the year.
Shaheen said the bad condition of Banihal -Mangit road has badly impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people living in these remote villages.
Expressing grave concern over the inability of the local administration in clearing the bottle necks on construction of Bawa- Mangit road and Seeran-Sarachi road, the NC leader urged the R&B Department for taking up the construction work on immediate bases.
Shaheen also drew the attention of the LG led State administration towards deficiencies in Education, power and Health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the Health institutions.
He said complaints about defunct utility services have also been received from Khari-Trigam, Mahoo-Mangit, Pogal-Paristan, Sumar, Sarachi, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Maligam, Arimarg, Buzla Senabati and Tanka.
Later, Shaheen also went to village Sarachi, where a local teacher Mohammad Iqbal Naik had died in a tragic road accident during the DDC election and consoled the bereaved family. He urged upon the District administration to sanction ex-gratia relief in favour of the NoKs of the deceased.
While launching Party Membership drive for the year 2020-21 in village Kuthji , Shaheen urged the party workers to take the party agenda to every house hold and strengthen the party at the grassroot level.
Block president Khari, Mohamed Ashraf Naik, Block Vice presidents Banihal & Khari Abdul Gani Wani, Sarpanch Mohammad Rafique Naik, Mohamed Anwar Naik, Halqa President Abdul Rahman Dar, Jabar Ahmed Mir besides Mohammad Ibrahim, Imtiyaz Ahmed and others accompanied the leader.
